Just my 2 pence.Begin the quest by speaking to Watchtower Wizard north of Yanille in the Watchtower. I definately find them less restricting than say churches but as I mentioned above I don't like how overpowered they become late game and personally I don't believe they are good for new players. Mobile users have to use the watchtower screen.įor those unfamiliar or interested to learn more, A great guide is available here on the UK forums: Īnyways now that I've explained Watchtowers a little (most of you probably knew about them anyways) id like to know everyone's general opinion on them. In my opinion Watchtowers really promote defensive play however if a player doesn't know how to properly use Watchtowers they could be lulled into purchasing one early on and suffer as a result.Įvery attack that comes into range is tagged with the army size and if it is led by a nobleman. This does not only affect attacks on villages within the range but also attacks traveling through the range. However in late game when resources aren't scarce, these can become incredibly overpowered for defending as all you have to do is stack your very front line with towers and any attack incoming will be tagged as it passes by allowing you to deal accordingly. Furthermore even a level 20 WT only has an 8 field radius and thus placement of your towers becomes essential. To balance this out a bit Watchtowers are expensive both in resources and population. A lot of the more recent worlds have a new feature called 'Watchtowers' which allow you to view certain information about incoming attacks that pass through your towers radius.
